The lakes are murky and I wouldn't necessarily swim but floating and paddleboarding is calm and fun and the beach is well maintained. The wildlife is incredible and we had multiple dear come through right next to our site and saw moose lakeside. The trails are beautiful and there is so much to do you could keep coming back and never get bored. I love this park!
Love it here..had a great site til we had to move to another because it was booked that day that we decided to stay another day. But no worries..we found another and enjoyed another night. Have lots of things to do. There's horse back riding.. golf..mini golf.. swimming opens July 1st... interpreter centre very interesting.. little restaurant.. ice cream... Slushies.. come down here..its beautiful
The diversity of ecosystems present here is truly magical. There is bird song everywhere and an very large number of bird species. We saw man moose and white tailed deer. I'd live there in a flash. Lodgepole Grill, on the lake shore, has very good fish and chips and decent burgers. I highly recommend it if you are sick of grilling in the open. I have not camped here when there are a lot of people or children and suspect I would find the campsite a bit too close together. However, it is a great place if you have kids as there are playgrounds and real bathrooms. Unfortunately, there are also street lights. That dark sky preserve advertising is a lie. Only a very small area is off limits for lights and it is private.
Absolutely great place. We had a long weekend there last week and it was brill. Our little nippers loved it. Only 2 things I maked down on was1, No where to was dirty pots and pans. We were in a trailer tent with no sink and we found there wasn't a facility to wash up. 2, the pool closes too early. We arrived Friday and set up then decided to head to the pool to cool off. We got there just before 5 to find a closed sign on the door even tho it didn't actually close till 6. Didn't spoil it tho as we went to the lake instead. Great place and will return
Cypress Hills is such an amazing place. Definitely a great place to visit. Lots of amenities and very beautiful. Tons of activities in the centre block, or head over to the west block for a more wilderness experience. Friendly ppl and great campgrounds too.
